With a five year survival rate of just 49%, ovarian cancer is the most lethal women’s cancer.
Ovarian cancer is one of the most lethal and complex cancer types. Over the next 10 years, an estimated 14,000 Australian women will die from it. The World Ovarian Cancer Coalition estimated that if not more is done for research, there will be an 81% increase in ovarian cancer deaths in our region by 2050.
Funds raised by Frocktober participants support the Ovarian Cancer Research Foundation (OCRF) in our mission to raise the survival rate by developing an early detection test, more effective targeted therapies to preventative measures for ovarian cancer.
Silver Lining
Since 2007, Frocktober has dazzled as Australia’s most fashionable month-long fundraiser, spreading awareness and raising funds for vital ovarian cancer research through the Ovarian Cancer Research Foundation (OCRF). For a day, a week, or the entire month of October, Australians from all walks of life are invited to dive into their wardrobes and frock up in the name of ovarian cancer research.
Frocktober offers a chance to spark crucial conversations about the challenges of early detection, treatment and prevention while raising awareness of the often-vague symptoms.
Ovarian Cancer Research Foundation launched 2024 ‘Frocktober’ fundraiser with a new look and feel. The refreshed campaign identity will run across street furniture, large format, workplace and shopping centre media, street posters, digital, social and press, supported by PR activations and a radio campaign.
