1 in 5 Australians will experience a mental health problem in any given year. That means that every person is likely to know someone who is experiencing a mental health problem – this makes mental health everybody’s business and demonstrates the need for community care models that empower individuals where they live, work and play.

For more than 22 years Mental Health First Aid Australia’s evidence-based training courses have equipped people with the practical skills, knowledge, and confidence to listen, connect and offer support to someone experiencing a mental health problem.

Silver Lining

‘Would you know to say?’ is an appreciation to all the listeners out there.

When someone you know is struggling with their mental health, it can be difficult to know what to say. You might feel uncertain about how to approach the conversation or worry about saying the wrong thing.  From recognising the signs that something isn’t quite right to broaching the conversation, find out how to support those around you with compassion and understanding.

More than 1.3 million Australians have the crucial skills to support people when it matters most.
